2 Corinthians 10:5; We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

John 7:38 Jesus said "He that believeth on me, as the scripture has said, out of his belly shall flow rivers of living water."
WE ARE COMPOSED OF 4:

1. YOUR OWN HUMAN SPIRIT which hopefully has been renewed and sealed by the Holy Spirit. For this we would need to be born again. See 'HUMAN SPIRIT'

2. THE BODY/BRAIN (flesh). See this page.

3. THE SOUL (mind, will, and emotion).

4. HOLY SPIRIT, if we have been baptized in the Holy Spirit, we have the Holy Spirit indwelling us (if we have asked for it), See 'HOLY SPIRIT'
Transforming & Renewing of my mind Romans 12:2 (below) is probably the hardest thing I have ever had to do and continue to do.
​
I know I will never get the body or its brain (flesh) to understand the spiritual side of me, because of 1 Corinthians 2:14.
​
We are appended/joined to the body/brain which is full of genetic various recordings - including sins, evils and sicknesses - since the beginning of man (See 'THE BEGINNING OF MANKIND').
This makes a lot of sense if we look at the brain as the body's computer which works to help the body function better and it is very important to the body for it's survival because it can depend upon what it has stored from past life experiences, including SICKNESSES, EVIL, AND BODY PROBLEMS, in order to have solutions to it's present life perceived problems.

It is the job of the brain to use all of its recorded past to establish the best path for the body in the light of the current stimuli it perceives, and also, to fashion the best suited body from the experiential past, when it comes time for procreation through sex.
​

The brain is recording all the time. - EVERY 52TH OF A SECOND. It is constantly storing past times in a very orderly time-sequenced fashion. (See noted Neuroscientist Dr. Carolyn Leaf).
EXAMPLE: A person has an illness/pain. The brain, by way of finding a solution, will look into it's time-orderly recorded genetic past and find similar experiences and bring those experiences to the present to view. This means that we (the soul) get to experience them too. The apparency can be that the illness/pain gets worse, instead of going away or getting healed.
These picture recordings will float back and forth for the brain to look at, and will not cement in our p resent time, unless we decide that we are sick or sicker. In other words we override the brain and it's choices.
SOLUTION: For us to realize that the brain/body's past experiences are not our experiences. The body/brain is a completely separate entity with its own way of operating and has a completely different past.
My way to handle the body/brain (flesh) is to immerse it in music, positive energy and happy movies. Also, pictures of health because it records everything.

It does respond. It does obey. It does get happier and it can become healthy - in time - as it records good health and happy times over and over again, but the past does not go away completely and remains stored for future reference. This means that if we (our spiritual side) gets negative, then all of the stored negative similar experiences can come flooding back.
If we do a good job we can tell it certain things such as: "You are healthy, youthful and prosperous" and if we believe, it will believe. Mine usually wants to look at itself in a mirror when I tell it this, because the body/brain/flesh operates upon the 5 senses: SEE, FEEL, TASTE, SMELL, TOUCH and HEAR.
The body/brain is programmable, it can, and does become convinced in the positive - purely by the amount of positive around. However, the body/brain will NEVER become spiritual. The spiritual and the body/brain are natural enemies. (See Romans 8:5-7 below)

If we turn to God then He can create blessings or miracles because of our belief and the body will respond. I have witnessed the sick being healed and blind eyes opened. Myself, with the aid of God's Holy Spirit within me, took a man who was wheelchair ridden for many years into walking/running; and he, as far as I know, has not gone back into his wheelchair since. See HOLY SPIRIT. Subsequent to that, I took 2 other men out of wheelchairs with the help of the Holy Spirit.

Once the Holy Spirit knows you want Him to use you - to operate through you - then there will be a series of healings and prophesies that will come your way. It really is absolutely thrilling and wonderful, but I know it is not me and I am honored that the Holy Spirit would use me.

IMAGINATION
​
This is the definition of imagination.

"Imagination" is the translation of yetser, properly "a shaping," hence, "a thought" (Genesis 6:5; 8:21; Deuteronomy 31:21; 1 Chronicles 28:9; 29:18).

In Isaiah 26:3 yetser is translated "mind" (King James Version margin "thought" or "imagination"), "whose mind is stayed on thee" (the Revised Version margin "or imagination");
(mind is STAYED on thee. Which means the imagination stays and does not waver.)

in Psalms 103:14 it is "frame"; of sheriruth, "obstinacy," "stubbornness"
(obstinacy and stubbornness means that it stays in the thoughts and is constantly asserted.)

The Revised Version (British and American) gives "stubbornness" in each instance where sheriruth is in the King James Version translated "imagination";

in Proverbs 6:18 the American Standard Revised Version has "purposes"; the Revised Version (British and American) has "devices" (Lamentations 3:60,61) and "reasonings" (Romans 1:21), "imagination" for "conceit" (Proverbs 18:11), and
(it can seem like conceit when one refuses to let it go)
(English Revised Version) for "device" (Lamentations 3:62). "Imagination" is frequent in Apocrypha, e.g. Ecclesiasticus 22:18 (dianoema); 37:3 (enthumema, "wicked imagination"); 40:2 (dialogismos, the Revised Version (British and American) "expectation").

SUMMARY:
Imagination is a 'shaping thought', which 'stays' and does not 'waver 'and is 'constantly' asserted and has a 'purpose', 'reasoning', and 'stubbornness', which we expect to happen. (see FAITH and BELIEF)
​
Imagination cannot come from the brain, since the brain cannot imagine. It can only formulate suppositions from its past stored recordings.
Imagination can only come from our soul (mind, will, and emotion) which is in communication with our spiritual self.
​
We can look to the brain for memories it has stored, which can prove useful. However, there is nothing better than spiritual memory which is perfect and without blemish, faltering, or failure. It is our spiritual memories which can replace the body's memory in old age or infirmity and actually is far superior.
​
It is obvious from these verses that the human spirit has a mind of its own which is not the brain (flesh), and is not the Holy Spirit, and is not God.
​
That this human spirit with its own soul (mind, will, and emotion) is self-determined and has been given the ability to choose, think, express, and decide its own actions.
However, since we have a fleshly body and brain, we would be wise, as Paul says to "crucify the flesh" (not listen to the body's brain messages/thoughts). Galatians 5:24.

We need to stop listening to the brain which we know is "flesh".
According to Romans 8:5-7; (above) if we believe that we are a brain/body/flesh and live "in accordance with it", then we have the following attributes:

Have our "minds set on what the flesh desires".

Is "hostile to God".
-
"Cannot please God."
-
Being governed by the brain, for us, "is death".

1 Corinthians 15:50; I declare to you, brothers and sisters, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God, nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable.

The flesh (body/brain) "cannot inherit the kingdom of God" (as some think).

"nor does the perishable inherit the imperishable." The body/brain are both perishable and therefore cannot inherit the kind of body which is imperishable, which we will all get when we get a glorified body.

However, our body will be resurrected, so that we can have a glorified body. The flesh will still die after we have our glorified bodies.
A person without the Holy Spirit or a renewed born-again human spirit, and a person with a renewed born-again human spirit and Holy Spirit
1 Corinthians 2:14; The person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness, and cannot understand them because they are discerned only through the Spirit.

It's hard to get some of your more spiritual ideas across to a person without the Holy Spirit or a born-again human spirit (renewed) See HUMAN SPIRIT. I had a glorious marriage for 14 years because we were on the same page. Death separated us, but we will always love each other.
The next four verses shows us what we need to do:

Colossians 3:10; And have put on the new self, which is being renewed in knowledge in the image of its creator.
Philippians 2:2-4; then make my joy complete by being like-minded, having the same love, being one in spirit and of one mind. 3 Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit.
If they are, they are operating from a 'fleshly" viewpoint.
I watch carefully to stay on the path of these verses in Galatians 5:22-23; (above) which are the acts of the Spirit. They are a guide for me. I had to renew my mind and rid myself of Satan's evils and intentions, which as I got closer to God, got stronger and stronger.
I had to realize that when I studied at Charis Bible College to become a Minister to spread God's Word, that I became a target for Satan, which I have now overcome Phew! However, Satan only has the power we grant him. (see 'SATAN, WHO HE IS')
Proverbs 6:30-31; People do not despise a thief if he steals to satisfy his hunger when he is starving.
31 Yet if he is caught, he must pay sevenfold, though it costs him all the wealth of his house.
Satan and his demons work very hard trying to ruin your life.
Satan is a thief, murderer, and liar. We can demand he pay us back 7-fold what he has taken from us.

Get the justice you deserve!
THE BODY
We are trained to cater to the body: Does it have enough of the right kind of food? Does it have enough sleep? Does it look and dress correctly? How about exercise? .... and on, and on, and on, and on, and on!
​
We listen to the body/brain's thoughts. We analyze them. We make them our own.
​
What we have to know is that the human body is programmed to decay, day by day and we are not the human body and we are eternal. We are the human spirit and can have God's Holy Spirit and are eternal. To depend upon the body which is losing it's faculties and it's functions doesn't make much sense. That is the way of Arthritis, Alzheimer's, poor Eyesight, poor Hearing, and various internal problems.
​
I cannot begin to tell you how vital it is (especially as we get older) to depend upon our human spirit (who does not have these fleshly bodily problems) and God's Holy Spirit (who also does not have bodily problems) which are both within us if you accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. (See 'THE HUMAN SPIRIT' & 'THE HOLY SPIRIT')
I see so many people running to their doctor instead of God trying to remedy their flesh. They do not realize their flesh is destined to decay,
and as far as it is concerned is supposed to have various old-age symptoms such as poor eyesight, various physical problems, memory and hearing loss, etc. Then to make matters worse, they start on medications, and then more medications for the side effects of the previous medications. It is a downward hill from there. The only remedy is to turn to God and believe. God wants to renew your flesh and as Andrew Wommack says "God wants you well". See HEALING FOR YOU.

A lot of people believe that God controls everything and He controls our lives and the world in general. (See 'CONTROLLING GOD?')
Plus, they do not know how to pray for their healing if they need it. (See 'HEALING FOR YOU'),

SUMMARY: YOUR SOUL/MIND/WILL/.EMOTION, THE BRAIN AND THE BODY.
Your soul (your mind, will and emotion) is unseen but can be experienced, and is a combination of energies and intentions. It can be very confusing:

Who we are is a human spirit given to each of us by God in the womb, which can be renewed if we are 'born again' (See 'THE HUMAN SPIRIT'),
-
Who we are, (human spirit) has intentions which we send to our soul which we all have. (See above)
-
The Holy Spirit (from God - see 'THE HOLY SPIRIT') is not the same as the human spirit. We can all have the Holy Spirit, if we ask for it, from Jesus. The Holy Spirit works and helps our human spirit. It does not work with the brain/body/flesh.
-
The body/brain/flesh, its emotions and intentions can also enter and become a part of our soul (mind, will and emotion) if we allow them.
-
Satan/demons evil intentions can also become part of your soul if we are not careful, though they usually like to work and worry the body and its brain. (See 'SATAN, WHO HE IS').

The flesh (brain/body) cannot go to heaven because it "cannot inherit the kingdom of God" nor can it "inherit the imperishable" because it is perishable (1 Corinthians 15:50 above).

If we were just body/brain/flesh, the "Spirit" (Holy Spirit) cannot work with us because the body/brain/flesh does not understand the things of the Holy Spirit "but considers them foolishness" (1 Corinthians 2:14 above).

WHY SHOULD YOU WATCH DR. CAROLINE LEAF? Dr. Caroline Leaf is a communication pathologist and cognitive neuroscientist with a Masters and PhD in Communication Pathology and a BSc Logopaedics (study of changes in organ and body tissues), specializing in cognitive and metacognitive neuropsychology. Since the early 1980s, she has researched the mind-brain connection, the nature of mental health, and the formation of memory.
I was so glad to find her because it supported my research on the brain over many years and also filled in some missing pieces.

WHY SOULD YOU STUDY ANDREW WOMMACK? For me, I found God 8 years ago and having been a Mentor/teacher for most of my life started studying at regular churches, but it became obvious to me that there were missing or altered religious texts. I spent the next 8 years formulating this website and writing a 261-page book full of insights and realizations after I had found the truth that God had stated in His works through the people He chose, in various languages Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic, and of course in the Dead Sea Scrolls.

YOUR BRAIN IS WHAT YOU PUT IN IT:
Whether we believe in our sickness, watch a horror movie, or see a bloody event, or....?, the brain is recording them in pictures (which is what it does with the life it perceives through it's eyes or 5 senses, for survival purposes).
This means our brain has an unbelievable amount of data, including horror movies, and negatives and sicknesses recorded, which it refers to constantly when making decisions, suppositions and conclusions in order to establish what the next best action/response for the body should be. That's right, the brain is fixed upon its body's survival. Neither the brain nor the body understand the spiritual, and neither is it possible for them because they are not spiritual - they are flesh. The brain does not look to the future for solutions, it can only look to the past at it's mental image picture recordings (which are arranged in many long rows of similar experiences) recorded on it's DNA, for solutions to the present stimuli that it perceives through it's eyes and it's senses.
This also means brain-generated irrational-thought-patterns/worries can infect our soul (mind, will and emotion) and make it more difficult to stay in faith. See 'FAITH'.
WE ARE SEPARATE ENTITIES: the brain and body = decaying flesh, which is preparing for it's new body (more suited to the current times) to be generated at a new birth at the beginning of procreation.
WE ARE SPIRITUAL/ETERNAL. We will live on after the flesh dies. We do not live another life generated in order to have more experiences. This is what the flesh does. It is not us. We live on as a soul and spirit and join God in His eternity.
What is here on this page is great and if you apply these Bible verses, there is no reason that your life should not change for the better.

THE BRAIN
IS NOT YOUR SOUL IT IS FLESH!

The brain has mental disorders, brain traumas and stress.
Psychologists and psychiatrists work with the body's brain and work on altering it with drugs and various operations. See PSYCHOLOGY
The brain's attention is on "acts of the flesh" as it says in Galatians 5:19-21 below:
ACTS OF THE FLESH
Galatians 5:19-21; The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery; 20 idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions 21 and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.
In an ideal world, God's Holy Spirit advises the human spirit (renewed-see below) and the human spirit exercises his mind, will, and emotion (soul) to influence his body.
I think we all have to agree that the brain is FLESH. I think it is important for us to remember that the flesh (we have inherited from birth) is full of sin genetically Galatians 5:19-21 (above), so God's Holy Spirit, especially in the light of 1 Corinthians 2:14 (below), has no option but to work through our God-given human spirit (YOU) within all of us.
See 'THE HOLY SPIRIT' and 'THE HUMAN SPIRIT' and 'WHO ARE WE REALLY?'.
Romans 8:5-7; Those who live according to the flesh have their minds set on what the flesh desires; but those who live in accordance with the Spirit have their minds set on what the Spirit desires. 6 The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace. 7 The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God’s law, nor can it do so. 8 Those who are in the realm of the flesh cannot please God.
Galatians 5:17; The sinful nature wants to do evil, which is just the opposite of what the Spirit wants. And the Spirit gives us desires that are the opposite of what the sinful nature desires. These two forces are constantly fighting each other, so you are not free to carry out your good intentions. NLT
One of Satan/demons main operating bases is to infect the brain/body with it's evil intentions. If we crucify the flesh then that would help - because crucifying means we are no longer listening to the brain.
Galatians 5:24; Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires.
I have to say, in one respect an abused upbringing was of help to me, because I had to ignore the brain because it was so messed up. I had to ascend to a state above and away from the brain and ignore it (crucify the flesh). I had no idea that one of the side benefits would help me move into my own realm of the human spirit, which I had only a vague idea about.
Romans 7:18; For I know that good itself does not dwell in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out

Romans 7:21-23; So I find this law at work: Although I want to do good, evil is right there with me. 22 For in my inner being I delight in God’s law; 23 but I see another law at work in me, waging war against the law of my mind and making me a prisoner of the law of sin at work within me.
Here, Apostle Paul who wrote this verse is expressing himself about his "sinful nature" and having a "desire to do what is good, "but that he "cannot carry it out".

Paul carries on to say he delights "in God's law" but he sees "another law at work in him, waging war against the law of his mind and making him a prisoner of the law of sin at work within him"
​
I don't know about you, but I find the same problem. My body is adamantly against my spirit and my mind. We are at war. It is like my body doesn't want something else ruling it. It wants to be on its own to do what it would like to do. See SATAN WHO HE IS.
